4th Quarter... The Champion's Quarter

If you have ever watched an American football game you will likely notice as the time expires from the 3rd quarter and it is time to begin the 4th quarter, that many teams will hold up 4 fingers. This comes from the immense amount of practice that they have put in for the endurance to finish a game with the utmost intensity and with ultimate execution. In the 4th quarter in an NBA game this might be the only quarter than defense is actually played for the entire duration. Great sports moments are generally not made in the 1st or 2nd quarters of games. They are made when the competitors are tired and have been battling with all they’ve got and the vast majority of the time greatness reveals itself in the 4th quarter.

Think about it how many memorable shots can you remember from Michael Jordan in the first 3 quarters… Now close your eyes and think back and you’ll have a highlight reel of 4th quarter moments. Or perhaps Stanford vs. Cal… we don’t remember anything until chaos ensued and we had football players running through the band on the way to the end zone. These moments are brought to you by teams and individuals never giving up and never stopping until the last second is removed from the clock.

Now what does that mean for us in the real world. We aren’t sports stars. We are just ordinary people… right? Wrong! We are sales stars, Dad stars, Mom stars, People stars… Be a star no matter what you are doing. We have to keep our vision, our goals, our dreams, our work ethic, and most of all our belief in ourselves and others through the last second on the clock. Don’t let 2019 pass you by without finishing with everything that you can.
